James McClean fired a brutal dig at Shrewsbury Town after their relegation from League One as he celebrated his side's promotion to the Championship.

Wrexham's 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday ensured Phil Parkinson's men were promoted to the Championship, whereas rivals Shrewsbury dropped into League Two. Following the Welsh side's triumph, veteran McClean called Shrewsbury's Toto Nsiala, who was involved in a heated clash when the two teams played against each other back in January, a "numpty" and to "enjoy" being in the division below.

He posted an old clip from Shrewsbury's win over Wrexham and wrote: "Toto, I don't think we are in League One no more. Enjoy celebrating tackles in League Two, it's good craic numpty. Be the bigger man… never."
