As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rangers are looking to bring Liverpool talent Ovie Ejaria to Ibrox this summer, with Steven Gerrard expecting to conclude a deal this week.
What’s the story?
Having already completed the close-season signings of Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy and Scott Arfield, Rangers are on the hunt for more talent that can improve the first-team available to new boss Gerrard.
One name the new manager is keen to bring to Glasgow is 20-year-old Ovie Ejaria.
That’s according to The Sun, who say that the player could be released and signed by the Light Blues as early as this week.
The paper say that Gerrard is keen to bring him in now so he can get up to speed for the Gers’ crucial European qualifiers that are set to kick-off early next month.

Who is he?
Rated at £900,000 by Transfermarkt, Ejaria spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Sunderland, scoring on the final day against division champions Wolverhampton Wanderers.
That, alongside eight appearances for the Reds, is his only experience of first-team football so there is no doubt he would be coming to the Light Blues as a raw prospect.
Primarily a central midfielder, the 20-year-old loves to dribble, averaging three a game when at Sunderland, as demonstrated by WhoScored. He’s a player who likes to get on the ball and effect the game in the final third, also averaging a shot and a key pass per game while at the Stadium of Light.
With plenty of learning to do, there aren’t many better teachers for the youngster than Gerrard and if he feels Ejaria is ready for life at Rangers, fans should feel hopeful that he can make an impact in the Scottish Premiership.
