Football Insider have revealed that Ianis Hagi is set to earn £3m over three years, which equates to a wage of just over £19,200 a week.
The Gers completed the signing of the Romania international earlier this week after reports had been linking them with a permanent move for the 21-year-old. They signed him on loan in January, and he proceeded to scored three goals in his first 12 matches, which convinced the Ibrox outfit to sign him on a full-time basis.
They are said to have paid a £3m transfer fee, but overall their outlay on the former Genk man is set to be doubled if you include his salary. That £19,200 a week is considerably more than the average paid to players of the 54-time Scottish champions, which currently stands at £12,495 (£649,771 per year).
The talent is clearly there with Hagi, but especially in the current climate, it is a large amount of money to give one player north of the border. His age at least gives them the chance to sell him on eventually, but should the switch not work out, it could end up being a costly mistake from Ross Wilson and co.
